I’ve been collecting LEGO for some time now, and I’m in love with the new BeatBits that come in the LEGO VIDIYO sets. These little 2×2 printed tiles come in the different Beat Boxes & Bandmates sets, and are colorful, collectable, and have a special feature.

Lately LEGO has been trying to combine technology and bricks. The first attempts were with the LEGO Dimensions, the Hidden Side Series, and more recently with the Super Mario sets. Now they are trying again, with the VIDIYO line. Each time, I think they are getting closer and closer to a hit, and I’m really hoping that these VIDIYO sets will do the trick. They have a lot of cool things going for them.

Have you seen these new trans clear minifigure stands? They are included in the new LEGO DC Minifigure CMF packs, but I expect to be seeing them in lots of new sets coming out in 2020. These tiny, clear pieces have a 45-degree angle and have a inverted LEGO stud at one end with a hole and the other is the perfect size to fit in the claw hand.

Today the LEGOnet (LEGO Internet) is all abuzz with the announcement of the latest Creator Expert Modular set – The Bookshop. With 2504 pieces and 5 minifigures – the price will be $179.00. As you can see from the images, this is actually 2 buildings built together a bookstore on one side and a little 3 story house on the other, side by side. It’s a modular so it will connect and fit in with the other LEGO modulars that have come out already.

For a while now, there have been rumors for the next LEGO minifigure series. A few days ago, some photos were leaked on a Japanese site showing the box and bag images. There is a group photo as well of all the 16 minifigures in the new DC Series, but no individual shots yet. Since these aren’t officially released LEGO images, I don’t want to share them yet. When they do release more info I’ll update this post with them.
These are the new 16 LEGO DC Minifigures. These are superheroes and villains. I’ve got a list of the names below. Some of them are more popular characters, while others I had to look up because I wasn’t as familiar with them as I could be.
In each case there are several of each of the 16 different Superhero & Villain DC Minifigures.
I originally learned about the release of this series from a Japanese website that I follow.
It appears that all of the characters have 1×2 jumper plates and a trans clear piece which can be put under their foot to allow for some posing in jumping or flying action shots.
I’ve learned more about the new trans clear Minifigure stand and written a separate post about that. At this time I don’t know which minifigures in this series come with this piece, but I’ll include that info as I get it.

Shipping is $4 for any number of minifigs in the US. International rates start at $11. All orders come with tracking.
As always, there will be 16 different minifigures in sealed blind bags.
I expect this set to be priced at $4.99 US and will be on sale starting in January 2020. You can pre-order them at this price for now, but as soon as they come out prices may change based on availability and if some minifigures are more rare than others.
Right now as of the time of writing this blog post, this set is not yet released. When it is, I’ll buy it and write my thoughts here, as well on each individual Minifigure product page.

I’ve been slowly learning about new LEGO sets that will be released in May 2019. Some of the information here is official, and has come from the official LEGO Group, while others are leaks and come from unofficial, but mostly reliable sources.
The late spring and early summer months aren’t usually big release times for new LEGO sets. Usually we will see something a bit different being released, and this month is shaping up to be similar to previous years.
There has been some chatter on a few of the websites I follow about a LEGO Stranger Things set. Like most sets that come out this time of year, it will first be released to VIPs and then the general public in June.
Supposedly it will have 2287 pieces and be set number 85810. Somewhere in the $250 price range. I don’ know how many minifigures it will contain. It is supposed to be a model of Joyce Byers home. I’d love to see a Winona Ryder Minifigure of course, too.

Wow, after the blockbuster release of new sets last month (there were over 100). There were so many sets that came out that I had to do two blog posts about it – one of my usual January new sets where I featured the new Overwatch series, and another list of all the 100+ LEGO sets.
Honesty, I didn’t think LEGO had any more new sets to release.
With the upcoming The LEGO Movie 2, coming to the US on Feb, 8, I think LEGO Group wanted to save a few of those themed sets to be launched closer to the movie dropping.
I’m so excited for both of these! Welcome to Apocalypseburg! and a LEGO Movie 2 based CMF with 20 new Characters.
Let’s start with the Welcome to Apocalypseburg! set. With 3178 pieces this set is targeted for ages 16+ and in my experience this will be a more advanced set.
Welcome to Apocalypseburg! will have 12 new minifigures based on the movie:
The LEGO Movie 2 Custom Minifigures will be set number 71023, and will consist of 20 new style blind bags where it is going to be harder to “feel” which character is inside.
I don’t know the official names for each of these Minifigures, and will update this post when I learn more.
I don’t know how many of each will appear in each “box”. But if it is the usual 60, I hope there will be an even distribution of 3 each. No matter what happens I’ll buy a full box and share what I find with you.
Today is New Year’s day 2019, and there are over 100 new LEGO sets being released today! Pretty much every major series LEGO makes is getting a handful of new sets, at all different price points, plus they are adding a 2 new ones, Overwatch and Sky Police.

Can you believe it is already 2019? This year I will turn 49. That means I’ve been playing with and collecting LEGO for over 40 years. I sure wish I had saved the sets I played with as a kid. But I know they are in good hands, at my brother’s house and getting used by my nephews.
There has been a lot of information flying around Instagram, Youtube and LEGO Blogs about new sets being released in 2019, including sets in the LEGO Cities, Classic, Creator, Friends, Ninjago, Minecraft, and Star Wars.
At first there wasn’t any info about release dates, but as December progressed, more information became available, and eventually over 100 new sets were visible on the LEGO store website as coming soon. I’m pretty excited to see all the new ones coming out! You can read about all the new 2019 LEGO Releases on a this separate post.
One other set I’m excited that is being released is LEGO Forma on the IndieGoGo site. It’s an articulated fish with different “skins” and it is scheduled to be sent out in January to the backers of the program (expect to see a review on my site when I get it).
Of course the big news for NEW LEGO sets in January of 2019 is the release of the Overwatch Series. I pre-ordered these sets as soon as I heard about it (and told you about it in my LEGO sets being released in NOVEMBER post).
I’m very excited about the release of these sets, and have a feeling they will be extremely popular and hard to get as not only will LEGO fans hoard them, but the will be collected by Overwatch players and collectors as well.

This is the most expensive set of the new LEGO Overwatch series, coming in at $90. It’s got 4 minifigures (Pharah, Mercy and Reaper are minifigures and Winston is big figure on scale with the Hulk or Thanos). There is also the classic Overwatch Rocket, which I believe can break apart into 2 smaller rockets, as well as a Launch Pad which holds the rocket in a launch position. There are also some food elements, and of course some very cool Overwatch weapons.
The next biggest set is the Mech Build of Bastion from Overwatch. Coming in at over 10″ tall this Mech can either be in recon mode or transform into Sentry mode. There are also light elements as well as a brick build LEGO Ganymede.
This set contains 2 more Tank Heroes in a Lego Mech format: D. Va and Reinhardt. These Mechs aren’t as big as the Bastion, but they do open so a minifigure can fit inside. Plus you get a D.Va and Reinhardt Minifigs.
This set comes with 3 new Overwatch Minifigs: Soldier: 76, Reaper and McCree, as well as a building and truck from the famous game.
This set, which is the 2nd most affordable has several unique features which I believe will make it very popular. Not only does it come with 3 minifigs, and custom weapons for each of them you also get to build the Hanamura dojo, which has several cool play features.
It’s super cool that the cheapest (and smallest) set comes with the most popular Minifig – Tracer! Plus you get a ship, with room for a minifig, and some LEGO Overwatch weapons as well. I really hope the pieces are printed, but I have a feeling this set will use stickers.

I’ve just learned that there will be 19 new sets on December 26, 2018 from the upcoming LEGO Movie 2.
As I look through the list I see a few “must have” sets including UltraKitty, Benny’s Space Squad, and Metal Beards Heavy Motor Bike. Which ones are your favorites?
According to the Lego website, there is only one set being released December 2018.
With over 1000 pieces, and an initial price of $129.99 this new Star Wars Lego set includes 5, minifigures, an Advanced Tie Fighter, and has lots of playable features.
A few weeks ago was Blizzcon, where one of the most talked about events was the release of the LEGO Overwatch Sets.
Based on the popular videogame with the same name, this is the first time LEGO group has collaborated with such a theme. Typically they work with movies (like Star Wars) or superheroes (Like Marvel). But based on the amount of on line chatter and hype, I have a feeling this is going to be a very popular and collectible series of sets.
Right now, the six sets are available for pre-order on the Lego store website. Totaling 274.94 to pre order all of them, I’d suggest clicking the button now to lock in your order before they run out of stock.
According to the website, ordering now will guarantee shipping by Jan 1, 2019.
I have been able to find the set names and set numbers. There are photos out there too but as you know I only publish my own pictures on this site.
Also on good authority, I understand there will be five new LEGO Spider-Man sets released most likely in December 2018. Walmart was reported to be the store that would be getting the sets, but we will have to see as it is too early to tell right now.
