LEGO Baby Voldemort Minifigure

Description

When I first heard that there was a tiny baby Voldemeort being released by LEGO, I knew I had to have it.  You may have seen the little LEGO Babies that have been released in the past few years.  They first were released in a Park People set, and more recently as sewer babies and other sets from the LEGO movie series.  This mini Voldemort is modeled in the same way.

While I was taking the photo of this minifigure, my son asked me who Voldemort’s parents were.  I told him that was a great questions.  We began to talk about the history of Voldemort, and where he came from.  The Harry Potter books talk about Tom Riddle, who was a brilliant wizard who came from a half-blood family.  Something happened though, and he turned as he was searching for answers to some of his questions.  This transformed him into the Dark wizard Lord Voldemort.

However, while Voldemort was fighting Harry Potter’s parents, he was sort of killed.  Not in the traditional way, but he was reduced to a non-human form in the battle, and this is where the baby Voldememort comes from.

Background

Voldemort is Harry Potter’s mortal enemy.  Since Harry Potter was a big part in destroying Voldemort when he was a baby, Harry Potter was needed for Voldemort’s rebirth.
