Description

This Aladdin Minifigure is based on the 1992 movie with the same name. He has a very tough childhood, and at 16 joins the circus, and a few years later (at least in this story) he is being chased on the streets of a Middle East city when he runs into the princess and falls in love.

I like this minifigure, but I wish it came with a little pet monkey. Also, for some reason I prefer my fictional Disney prince and princess characters to be minidolls instead of the minifigure. That’s just my preference and what looks good in my Lego city.

Background

Aladdin, as a character comes from the Arabian Nights, or the ‘One Thousand and One Nights’ told by Scheherazade (who was a woman by the way). He has a typical rags to riches story. What I find interesting after reading the original story is that it is set in China, not the middle east.
